The new Fuji SP-1 Smartphone printer lets you take a photo with a smartphone then send the image via Fujifilm's Instax Share App to print anytime and anywhere that the printer is positioned.
The clever thing is that the SP-1 is totally portable, running off two CR2 batteries (approximately 100 prints) but there's also a mains lead option (not included) meaning it can be run from a power supply too.
The Instax Share App is equally suited for Apple or Android devices which give it the advantage over the Impossible Instant Lab (IOS only).
The Instax SP-1 is essentially a wireless printer so any smartphone or tablet with the correct operating system can use it whereas the Instant Lab, by design, captures an image from your iPhone onto the film which then develops it. In our view the Instax film is a more advanced colour film than that from the Impossible Project albeit the image size is smaller.
